CHARLTON head coach Bob Peeters is hoping that Igor Vetokele's arm injury is not serious after the Angolan international had to be helped from the pitch at the final whistle.

The striker - named Championship Player of the Month for August - suffered the injury late on in an action-packed draw with Wolves.

Vetokele had his left arm raised by a member of the club's medical team at the final whistle.

Peeters said: "I think the keeper [Carl Ikeme] stepped on him and there is a nerve that maybe is a little bit blocked.

"I'm not a doctor - I think it is a flesh wound."

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett was unhappy with Andre Bikey's 25th-minute opener for Charlton. The big defender acrobatically volleyed home a Jordan Cousins corner at the near post - but Jackett claimed that Tal Ben Haim blocked off the Cameroonian defender's marker.
