‘Help police to find the killer of our son’

THE parents of a Battersea teenager who was stabbed to death in a nightclub have spoken of their “devastation”.

Jordan Malutshi, 17, was stabbed in the heart in the early hours of Sunday.

He was taken to hospital in Reading, where the attack took place, but he was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

In a joint statement, Jordan’s mother Gitta Tshibala and father Michael Malutshi said: “We appeal for anyone with any information about our son’s death to come forward.

“This has been a devastating time for our family.

“We have seen many times on TV things like this happening and you think that it only happens to other people. But now it has happened to us.

“We call our son Jordan but his friends call him Priceless.

“He was priceless: a young man, full of talent, who was just discovering himself.

“I know that mothers and fathers out there will be wondering how it feels to go through something like this, but please don’t wish [them] to experience what we are going through.

“I don’t want to see more young lives taken away before they discover what life is about.

“Please help us.

“If you were in the Face Bar when our son died, please talk to the police.”

A large shrine dedicated to Jordan has been formed around goalposts on the Patmore Estate, close to New Covent Garden Market, where he lived.

A T-shirt hung above the shrine reads: “RIP Price.”

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Hunter, who is leading the police investigation into Jordan’s death, said: “We know there were about 140 people in the Face Bar Nightclub in Chatham Street, Reading, shortly before the incident took place and we want to speak to anybody who was there.

“What concerns me is that a number of people we know were present and are likely to have vital information have refused to support the police investigation so far.”

Thames Valley Police arrested a man in connection with the death, a 31-year-old who handed himself in.
