CHRIS Adams believes Kevin Pietersen’s presence at Surrey is already proving beneficial to the club’s youngsters. The England batsman, on loan for two-and-a-half weeks, made a first-innings duck against Glamorgan on Tuesday in the South Londoners’ final home game of the summer. But Adams believes the 30-year-old’s impact will last well beyond his brief stay at The Brit Insurance Oval. “Kevin has been magnificent around the squad,” said Surrey coach Adams. “He’s already identified some young players in the side who he thinks have real talent. “The last six weeks have been all about clearing the way for our talent to come through. “While we have had our disappointments and we’re frustrated with how we’ve done at times, we know that those guys will have benefitted from playing first-class games and now from having had the opportunity to play alongside someone with Kevin’s experience and knowledge."
